A rainy day

It has been raining today. I have planted seeds in the rain. Good watering for the seeds. Here is a rain drenched crocus.

My helper was out in the rain with me. He had to come in and get dry and warmed up.

the front yard

Yesterday, we hauled in one load of soil-that went in the first 3 garden boxes in back. And the first load of barkomulch. The front needs a bit more, but it does make it look nice. Smells nice too.

Garden update 2-22-09

The first box is planted. Snow peas, carrots, beets, onions, and radishes. Plus an added kitty deterent device. (the chicken wire fencing.) Fuzzy did not like the wire. Poor little guy.

I tried to get a picture of Rudy in the bucket, but he didn't stay inside it for long enough. Garden is starting to look better.

Mom's Birthday

Jena and kids, me, and the parents went out on Sunday in celebration of Mom's birthday. We started with lunch at the Olive Garden. Mom overslept and so the parents arrived a bit later than the rest of us. Ernie did show for lunch but left afterwards. From the Olive Garden, we walked over to Barnes and Noble. I called Shena from my cell phone so we could all chat and she could wish Mom a happy birthday. The connection was not very good as they were getting some effects of a nearby hurricane. From Barnes and Noble we walked over to the Mall and went to the Movies. Mom wanted to see Hotel for Dogs. Jena and the kids went with her. Dad and I went to see the Pink Panther 2. Very funny even if the reviews were not so good, we enjoyed it. From there we went to both Euphoria Chocolates and to Sees Chocolates, to try out which chocolates were better, of course.
I left from there, but Mom was certain that she hadn't had enough time at the bookstore and most of the fam continued back to the bookstore. I think Mom had a nice time.

We are planning a "Parental Celebration" the weekend of the 28th to celebrate birthdays and anniversaries. Perhaps with a bbq and bowling. All are invited!
